After nearly 6 months in the forest and on pasture, the pigs are ready for processing. This crisp Fall day marks the culmination of all our hard work throughout the spring and summer.

It’s also a solemn moment to reflect on the bounty of the ranch, knowing that these animals lived happy lives, raised with respect, and harvested with humility.

This year we partnered with Amery Meat Market to butcher pigs for our customers. Amery Meat Market offers a wide variety of processing options to customize each pig to the buyer’s specifications.

In addition, several customers opted for on-farm processing, butchering the hog themselves. For those looking to become even more connected to their food, there is no better way than to process it with your own hands.

Either way, the eating experience of these pigs is unmatched. Forest-raised pork is on a completely different level. The meat is darker, more tender, and infinitely more flavorful than cheap, grocery store fare.

In addition to being delicious, our pork is more nutrient dense. They were fed a non-GMO ration, finished on a soy-free mix. Raised in the woods and on pasture, these pigs were allowed to root in the soil and incorporate natural minerals into their diet. Their healthy diet translates to healthier pork for our freezers.
