SFA Fencing Workshop

SFA (Sustainable Farming Association of Minnesota) hosted a fencing workshop for farmers raising small ruminants (e.g. sheep, goats).

Thank you to Berkebile Family Farm (Foley, MN) for hosting the event.

The session included discussions on how to use electrified netting, using multiple strand fencing, training livestock to electric fencing, and common issues that are experienced with electric fencing.

Portable electric fence is an efficient way to manage grazing and build soil health, while maximizing the productivity of the pasture.

As a member of SFA, we benefit greatly from these technical advisory sessions, learning from experts like Kent Solberg and Jonathan Kilpatrick.

We also get to connect with other local farms also pursuing environmental stewardship and animal welfare in their operations.
