Farm Tour: Flying Leap Farm

Today we visited a local farmer, neighbor, and new friend Clara Davis of Flying Leap Farm in Taylors Falls, Minnesota. We first met Clara at the Richfield Farmers Market in June 2020. Her family’s story has been an inspiration and a model for us at Rust Hill Ranch.

I reached out to Clara asking if it would be OK to stop by and visit between chores, and she was kind enough to let me lend a hand during some fence work, preparing for a new boar and sow.

We shared a pasture tour, talked chicken tractors, baby lambs, and discussed the ins-and-outs of raising pigs in the woods. This also happened to be the day that a batch of new Gray Ranger chicks arrived, and they were very happy in the brand new brooder.

Flying Leap Farm offers fantastic pastured pork and poultry, and we recommend reaching out to Clara at their website or mnflyingleapfarm@gmail.com

Thank you, Clara, for your hospitality and inspiration!
